CAPTAIN HUGH ENGLISH CANN the 3rd-36 years old-passed away, doing what he liked to do best, out at sea, in 1826. Hugh was a Sea Captain, and into shipping. His home port was Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada, that is where his family lived.

Hugh was born in 1790 to John Cann the 1st and Thankful (Corning) Cann, at Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. Hugh was 10th born out of 12 children for them. Six sons and six daughters.

About 1815 Hugh married his wife to be, Miss Lois Foote 1784-1878, at Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. to this union five children were born, Marrianna, Thankful, Lorenzo, Lyman E., Hugh E. Cann.

Son Lorenzo presided him in death, dying young.

His wife and the other children survived him.

He died at sea, and was buried there.
