Boston, - Dr. Davis Rich Dewey, noted economist and for 45 years a member of the faculty of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and head of the department of ecomonics and statistics, since 1930, died yesterday at his home, 985 Memorial Drive, Cambridge, in his 85th year. Funeral services will be held at noon tomorrow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.

Dewey Funeral Services To Be Held Tomorrow
Cambridge, Dec. 14 (AP) - Funeral services will be held tomorrow noon in Mount Auburn Cemetery for Dr. Davis Rich Dewey, 84, nationally knowm economist and professor emeritus of Massachusetts Institute of Technology who died yesterday.
Dr. Dewey, a brother of Dr. John Dewey, widely known educator, was an authority on questions of industry and finance. President Calvin Coolidge twice appointed him, 1928, to membership on boards which studied wage problems of western railroads.
A native of Burlington, Vt., he was a member of the M.I.T. faculty for 45 years until his retirement in 1933. He was a graduate of the University of Vermont and also held a degree of doctor of philosophy from Johns Hopkins University.
