Wanda Lee Rice Vaughn, 89, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, formerly of Delaplaine, went to be with our Lord on Friday, July 10, 2015, at her home.

She is survived by many relatives and friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro.

She was born June 10, 1926.

Mrs. Vaughn was a graduate of Stephens College and Arkansas State University. She also attended Oklahoma University. She was a retired teacher, having served in the Delaplaine and Hoxie school system where she taught English, Speech, and Drama. For a short time she taught Drama at Williams Baptist College. She also wrote and directed the outdoor dramas “Mother of Counties” for Lawrence County and “The Heritage Trail” and “The Crowley’s Ridge Story” for Greene County. At one time she was a member of the Greene County Library Board, Delta Kappa Gamma teachers’ sorority, and the Arkansas State University Foundation.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Vaughn of sixty-four years; parents: Thomas Lee Rice and Samantha Getson Rice; her grandparents: Jack and Rachel Getson and Susan Dalton Rice.

Funeral services were held at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Burial was in Memorial Gardens in Paragould. Arrangements were by Emerson Funeral Home.
