Services for Maxine Durrant, 81, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., KCK.
Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to The Alzheimer's Association, Heartland Chapter, West 75th St., Prairie Village, Kan. 66208-0076.
Mrs. Durrant died Saturday, June 2, 2001, at The Alzheimer's Center of Kansas City. She was born Aug. 5, 1919, in Grundy County, Mo., and had been a resident of Kansas City since 1943. She was a member of Eastern Star, a past president of the PTA, past president of the Kansas City Art Association, and the State of Kansas Silverhaired Council. She had been instrumental in the Headstart Program and a founding member of the Prescott Center Neighborhood Development.
Her husband, Willard W. Durrant; two brothers; and two sisters, all preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Wendell Lee Durrant, Chatsworth, Calif., and Billy Joe Durrant, KCK; two brothers, Dean Allen, Horseshoe Bend, Ark., and Edwin Allen, St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Thelma Clark, Independence, Mo., and Pat Kutzli, Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
