She was a member of Citronelle United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, an active choir member, served on the administrative board and various committees. She enjoyed having the church Christmas carolers over every Christmas for a meal with her chili as the main course. Juanita was disqualified from entering her chili in the church chili cook-off because she would have won hands down. Juanita loved traveling Europe with Mack and the energizers group from Alabama Power Company. She loved her family and spending time with them.

Dyess; sons, John (Amber) Dyess, Mark Dyess, and Matt (Amanda) Dyess; daughter, Julie Weir; sister, Jeanelle Rawles; grandchildren, Dylan, Hayleygh, Danyca, Luke, Gavin, Gage, and Trey; practice granddaughter, Christina and many other relatives and friends.
