On Wednesday, July 8, 2015 Marvin Door, age 82, of Cutlerville, formerly of Wayland, was called to his eternal home to be with his Lord and Savior. Marv was born in Moline, MI on January 26, 1933, the youngest of 13 children born to John and Anna Door. Along with his brothers, Ed and Chet, Marv owned Door Brothers Lumber Company. He went on to work for Bergsma Brothers Furniture before retiring from Surplus Industrial Supply. He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Marc Door; grandson, Jason Tuinstra; six brothers and four sisters. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Joan (Lobbezoo); children, Marcia and Thomas Ziemer, Marva Moriarty, Douglas and Patricia Door, Michael and Kim Door; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Kingsley and Ruth Jacobson; sister-in-law, Patricia Door; brother-in-law, Alton "Butch" and Marcia Lobbezoo; many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 13, at Dutton United Reformed Church, 6950 Hanna Lake SE, with Rev. Brian Najapfour officiating. Interment in Hooker Cemetery.
