Onis Ray "Runt" Washam, 77, Springfield, a Miller native, died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1997, at his home after a long illness. Mr. Washam was born May 21, 1919, at Miller. He moved to Springfield in 1959. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired carpenter. He was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, Springfield, and Southwest Model A Club. He married Billie Jean Parnell on August 10, 1946, at Miller. She died April 29, 1986. Surviving are two daughters, Michaela Ray, Republic, and Pat Garrison, Springfield; a brother, Bill Washam, Belton; and six grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Morris Leiman Mosher Funeral Home, Miller. The Rev. Charles Mattix will officiate. Burial will be in Sycamore Cemetery, northeast of Miller. Friends may call after 9 a.m. today at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
