She was born February 12, 1930 in Fountain Green, Utah to Joseph Peter Jensen and Nellie Vea Draper Jensen. She married Foster Ray Lamb March 25, 1950 and solemnized their marriage July 26, 1954 in the Manti Temple. Shirley was a valiant Daughter of God. The most important thing she leaves her family is her testimony of Jesus Christ. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in which she served in many callings. She was an ordinance worker at the Jordan River Temple for eight years and served a Mission with her husband at the Washington D.C. Temple - one of the highlights of her life.
She was also active in the community serving in various positions in the P.T.A., Scouting, Festival of Trees Committees. She also was a member of the Federation of Women's Club and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Her hobbies included quilting, handiwork, genealogy, reading and a love of music. She had a love for the Lamanite people whom she lived amongst for 10 years. The thing she will be remembered most for is the charity and love she showed toward her neighbors, friends, and family.
She is survived by her devoted husband; four children, Ray Henry Lamb (LonaVon), Sherry Vee Morton (William), Lynn Kay Lamb (Adele), and Angela Jean Nelsen (Stephen); 13 precious grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nella V. Sperry, Vera Chappell and Gloria Syme. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Alton, Denzil and Vern Jensen, and one sister Dora Lamb.
As a family we would like to thank Dr. Gregory Litton and his nurse Pat Ketchum for the many years of care, compassion and kindness they showed to our Mother.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, February 15, 2002 at the Cottonwood Heights 1st Ward Chapel (7075 So. 2245 E.)
