Martha E. (Gelling) Fenters, 78, Anderson, died Sunday at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., after being stricken suddenly at the clinic.
She was born Jan. 27, 1914, in Anderson, and was a lifelong Anderson resident.
She had been an interior decorator for Anderson City Hall and was a graduate of Anderson High School and Ball State University. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, 20th Century Club and Anderson Fine Arts Center.
Survivors include her husband, James R. Fenters; three daughters, Anne Roys of Olympia, Wash., Beth Umbreit of Pullman, Wash., and Jane Oudot of Paris, France; a stepdaughter, Janet Miller of Anderson; a stepson, Greg Fenters of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home with Dr. Douglas Hall and the Rev. Richard True officiating. Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church or the Christian Center.
