Anita Marie Collins, passed from this life on Sunday, July 5, 2015, at her home in Cleveland, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years, five months and nineteen days.
Anita was born January 17, 1951, in Melbourne, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Everett Eugene and Erma Lee (Rose) Boyd. As a young girl Anita moved with her parents to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she began her education. She later graduated from McClain High School. Following high school Anita worked as a nurse's aide at St. Francis Hospital. During this time in Tulsa she later met David Wayne Collins. The couple was united in marriage on March 6, 1979 in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple established their initial home in Tulsa before moving to Cleveland, Oklahoma. Anita worked part time at the Terlton Rural Water District for several years as well as the Cleveland Area Hospital. She later gained employment in Sand Springs working as a paraprofessional teacher. Several years later Anita accepted employment with Cleveland Public Schools also as a paraprofessional where she worked from 1992 until 1998, when she was forced into retirement due to health issues.
Anita enjoyed playing softball during the times she was in high school as well as coed in her later years. She also enjoyed cooking, dancing, singing and cleaning her home. Her favorite times were when she was with her husband, children and grandchildren. Anita always looked forward to attending family reunions. Her family describes Anita as very witty, funny, intuitive, strong, eclectic, and a jewelry lover. Anita was also a big fan of the Home Shopping Network.
Survivors are her husband Dave of the home, four children Misti Collier of Marshall, Arkansas, Brady Collier of Marshall, Arkansas, Michael Collins of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Allison Poole and her husband Carter of Owasso, Oklahoma; daughter in law Alesha Collier of Marshall, Arkansas; four brothers Jack Boyd of White Rock, New Mexico, Dale Boyd of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Paul Boyd of Big Flat, Arkansas, Mike Boyd of Big Flat, Arkansas; fourteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Jim Boyd.
