Elizabeth A. Kovatch, 95, passed away peacefully at 11:05pm Sunday, July 5, 2015 in Healthwin Specialize Care. Elizabeth was born on January 14, 1920 in Bridgeport, CT to John and Theresa (Marton) Vance. On September 11, 1953 she married George P. Kovatch. He died on August 29, 1982. Betty was also preceded in death by four sisters Irene Redding, Theresa Wolkiewicz, Helen Smith and Mary Bodnar and a brother John Vance. Surviving are a step-daughter Rosalie (Ray) Janis of Seattle, WA, two step-sons George (Pam) Kovatch of South Bend and Ronald (Penny) Kovatch of Birmingham, AL, 6 grandchildren Mark Janis, Michelle Janis, Kevin Kovatch, Brian Kovatch, Marcia Barnett and Neil Kovatch, 7 great-grandchildren Andrew, Chris, Jason, Brandon, Chelsea, Bryan, and Katrina, a sister Ethel Vance of South Bend, a brother Joe Vance of South Bend, 5 nieces and a nephew. Graveside services will be celebrated at 10:00am Wednesday, July 8, 2015 in Highland Cemetery. Zahoran Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
