A veteran of the armed services, he was stationed in Manila, The Philippine Islands, during the Spanish American War, and served as a Private in Company C, 23rd U S Infantry, later transferred to Company I, 26th U S Infantry.
On October 13, 1906 he married Mary Matilda (Mamie) Burt. They had five children.
William Bush worked in the gold fields of Colorado and California upon his honorable discharge from the U S Army. He later worked for San Joaquin Light and Power where he retired after more than 20 years of service.
William Bush died March 26, 1949 at the age of 70 at the Oaknoll Naval Hospital in Oakland California of cancer.
He was preceeded in death by his parents and his 3 year old daughter Alene Bush.
He is survived by his wife Mamie Bush, sons Ceaburn and Edward Bush, and his daughters Euleata Bush Jackson and Euleene Bush Barcus. Also survived by grandchildren Harold, Margie, Jerry, Jimmie and Cathy Bush and Michael and Nancy Barcus.
