A. E. Hazeltine Passes After Long Illness
Alton E. Hazeltine, 77, died today at his home, 1281 North Main Street, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jennie Wills Hazeltine; a son, Robert L. Hazeltine of Buffalo; two sisters, Miss Gertrude Hazeltine and Mrs. Carrie Isaacson, both of this city, and two grandchildren, Keith Allen Hazeltine and John Stanley Hazeltine, both of Buffalo.
Mr. Hazeltine was born here, son of Daniel and Margaret Robbins Hazeltine, and spent his entire lifetime here. He was for 24 years associated with Clarence L. Hovey under the firm name of Hazeltine & Hovey, engaged in the garbage contract business here. Many years ago he operated the old Belleview Hotel at Belleview on the lake, and later operated a dairy products store at Warren, Pa. He was a member of Jamestown Lodge, B. P. O. Elks, and the Izaak Walton League.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
