DIES IN VERMONT
Burial of Former Beechwoods Woman
Here Tomorrow.
Mrs. Julia Anderson, who would
have been 79 years old next, April,
died at her late home in Highgate
Center, Vermont, on Monday, Jan.
22. The body will arrive by Erie
railroad at Callicoon at
6:55 this evening,
and will be brought to the
Brand Funeral home here. A service
will be held Friday a t 10:30 a.m. in
the Methodist church by Pastor Mather,
and interment will be made in a
plot in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Anderson was born in Beechwoods,
a daughter of Joseph Layton
and Mary Haus. After her marriage
to Elijah J. Anderson they
lived for many years on the farm now
owned by Louis Korth. Mr. Anderson
died about twenty years ago, after
which Mrs. Anderson made her
home with her son, Raymond, who
served as school principal at Canton
and Mayville, N. Y., and late years
at Highgate Center, Vt.
Mrs. Anderson leaves besides the
son, a daughter, Miss Grace, engaged
in the public schools at Rockville
Center, L. I.; one brother, David
Layton of Idaho, and four sisters—
Mrs. Caroline Maltby of Hurd, Mrs.
Maria Rosinger of New York, Mrs.
Jennie Rieber of Stamford, Conn.,
and Mrs. Ellen (John H.) Bauernfeind
of Beechwoods.
