Elzia was the son of Leo & Goldie May Sherman Hulfachor and the grandson of James Oscar & Mary Elizabeth Lewis Halfacre/Hulfachor and Albert & Mamie Sherman. His siblings were: Helen, Marlin, Rovella, Nedda, Harvey, Hazel, Goldie, Marian & Phyllis Hulfachor.

He married LuJean Shoulder and their children included: Debra, Theresa, Sandy, Laurie, Tom, David & Jim Hulfachor.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill. -- Elzia J. Hulfachor, 74, died Tuesday evening at Lawrence Community Memorial Hospital.

He retired as a cement finisher.

He was a World War II Army veteran and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars .

Surviving are four daughters, Debra Mindenhall of Newton, Theresa Harmon of Lawrenceville, Sandy Schultz of Sumner and Laurie Thomas of Bridgeport; three sons, Tom and David, both of Lawrenceville, and Jim of Sumner; three sisters, Rovella Batey of Terrell, Texas, Hazel Henniger of Tucson, Ariz., and Phyllis Reeves of Odin, Texas; 19 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

His wife, LuJean (Shoulder), died in 1989.

Services at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home Sumner Chapel, with burial in Zion Cemetery.
