Geraldine Ayers Britt, 86, beloved wife of Bill Britt, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015, at her home.
Born in Anderson, on April, 8, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Richard V. and Mamie Lou King Ayers. A homemaker, she was a media member of Jimmy Swaggert Ministries. She was previously a member of Calhoun Falls Church of God, and she previously attended Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In addition to her husband Bill, she is survived by her sons, Michael V. Hilley of Starr, Tommy D. Hilley of Calhoun Falls, and Richard C. Hilley of Belton; her daughters, Deborah Hilley Batson and her husband John of Belton, Cynthia Hilley Chrisley and her husband Tony of Calhoun Falls, and Sheri Hilley Kidd and her husband Mark of Calhoun Falls; brothers, Sam W. Ayers of Anderson and Henry Joe Ayers of Simpsonville; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, the Reverend Hester Ayers, Billy Ayers, and Johnny Odell Ayers; and 3 sisters, Louise Woosley, Gladys Auten, and Helen Bleckley.
The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at 3:30 pm with the Reverend Dwain Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 6, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home of her daughter Deborah Batson, 720 McClain Road, Belton.
