Jim Barnes, 74 of Republic passed away Wednesday July 1, 2015. He was born March 14, 1941 to Robert Lee and Kate Williams Barnes in Aurora, MO. Jim married Carolyn Batzel in 1967 in Springfield, MO, she preceded him in death in 1974. He then married Martha Overturf in 1976 and she also preceded him in death in 2006. Jim was a member of the Kansas Expressway Church of Christ. He was a salesman for Amsoil and retired from BNSF railroad.
Jim was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ruel and 2 sisters, Holly Delo and Ellen Heasley. He is survived by a daughter Clarindia Barnes, a son Darrell Barnes, 3 brothers Lynn (Nancy) Barnes, Van (Barbara) Barnes and Kenneth (Kathryn) Barnes, 2 sisters Chloe Gaddis and Georgia Tucker and a granddaughter, Lauren Barnes.
Interment in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
