Alfred D. “A.D.” Wells 88, passed away July 3, 2015 at the Singing River Hospital, Pascagoula, MS, following medical complications. He was born and raised in Three Rivers community, to the late Wiley and Kizzie Wells and was a lifelong resident of Moss Point, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Kizzie Wells, his wife Dorothy Womack Wells, one sister, Ethelrine Wells Allen; four brothers, Quitman, Edward, Eddie Lee and Roy J. Wells. He leaves to mourn his loss four daughters, Irma Joseph (Roy) Mack, New Orleans, LA, Judy Joseph McLemore, Gautier, MS, Alfreda Wells Colley and Sharon D. Wells, Moss Point, MS; one son, Ronald B. (Linda)Wells, Sr., New Orleans, LA; two sister-in -laws, Nellie (Late Quitman)Wells, Escatawpa, MS and Mae Helen Womack McGowan, Baltimore, MD; and Jessica Y. McCovery, Pascagoula, MS, whom he reared as a daughter;15 Grand Children, 36 Great-Grand Children, 6 Great-Great Grand Children; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends of which several who were devoted to him over the years and adopted neighborhood grandchildren.

He attended Magnolia High School. He served his country in the United States Army during “The Korean War”. Upon returning home he worked as a Coal Miner, Longshoreman and with International Paper Company where he retired after 38 years. He was a member of Valor Masonic Lodge #271 for 72 years and King Solomon Consistory #142. He was an avid Sportsman who loved the outdoors and teaching others the art of outdoor sporting. He loved his relatives and was one the longest living elders of the community. He never met a stranger and would give his last to anyone. He served as a Lay Leader, Trustee, Head Superintendent of Sunday School, Senior Choir member and a Worship Leader at Davis Chapel United Methodist Church.

Celebration of Life will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July13, 2015 at Davis Chapel United Methodist Church, Big Point Road, Three Rivers, MS, with the viewing from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
