Julia M. Powell of Aguila died November 11 in Wickenburg. She was 78.

Ms. Powell was born August 13, 1916 in Phoenix and was a lifetime resident of Aguila.

She attended schools in Aguila and Wickenburg while living with her parents Venia and Len Powell. They owned and operated a cattle ranch that is now part of Martori Brothers Farms.

Ms. Powell loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and prospecting She also enjoyed working with horses and cattle and she spent most of her life ranching in Aguila.

She owned a trailer park in Phoenix from 1955 to 1978.

Survivors include her brother Alton R. Powell of Aguila; nephew Leon A. Powell and his wife Arija; great nephew Leon T. Powell and his wife Nancy; great-great nephew Spencer; great-great nieces Natalie and Lisa; and close friends Bonnie Wilson, Nona Muyleart and Florence Moody.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday (November 17) at the Community Bible Church in Aguila. Pastor Alan Kreamer will officiate.
