John W. Mehner, 68, passed away Monday, August 26, 2002, at his residence. He was born on December 8, 1933, in Rusk, Texas. He was a member of the Park Place Masonic Lodge in Houston and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife Becky Mehner; sons John Carlton Mehner and his wife Susan and William Allen Rutland and his wife Donna; sister Catherine Elizabeth "Kitty Beth" Miller; grandchildren Carl Eric Mehner, Angela Christine Mehner, Tony Joe TJ" Rutland, Rebecca Jo
Rutland and Megan Michelle Rutland; nieces Donna Jean Pryor and Suzanne McCarthy; and nephew Jim Mehner.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2002, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at J. Levy & Bro. Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2002, at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3114 77th Street, Galveston, Texas, with Bishop Edward C. Ferrin officiating. Interment will be held on Friday, August 30, 2002, at 1 p.m. at Rusk Cemetery in Rusk, Texas.
