WALTER DENISIUK, 65, Blairsville RD 3 (Brenizer) passed away unexpectedly early this morning, December 22, at Indiana Hospital. Born January 13, 1893, in (Jablonna) Poland, he was a son of Walter and Tille (Collisa) Denisiuk. He had been a resident of Blairsville RD 3 for the past 32 years. A retired coal miner, he was a charter member of Local 574-UMWA. He was also a member of SS Simon and Jude Church, Blairsville.
His wife, Bertna (Bertha) Benke Denisiuk, is among his survivors.
Other survivors include the following sons and daughters: Joseph, John and Alvin, all of Gary, Indiana; Mrs. John (Helen) Rossman, Gary, Indiana; Walter, Ambridge; Mrs. William (Stella) Horn, Blairsville RD., and Mrs. Joseph (Gertrude) Tatone, Blairsville.
He is also survived by 28 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Friends will be received at Hallow Funeral Home, Blairsville. Requiem High Mass will be held Wednesday, at 9 a.m. in the SS, Simon and Jude Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Note: On his Application for Citizenship, his birthday was listed as March 13, 1894. On his World War II Draft Registration Card, his birthday was listed as January 13, 1895. On his death certificate, his birthday was listed as January 13, 1893.
