Amos, 75, Merrill, lifelong Plymouth County resident, died Wednesday (April 3, 1985) at Floyd Valley Hospital, Le Mars, where he had been hospitalized two days after a brief illness.
Funeral will be on Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church rural Merrill. Burial will be in the church cemetery, rural Merrill.
Mr. Croon was born Aug. 16, 1909, at Nokomis, Ill., to Herman and Emma Meier Croon. He retired from Northwester Railroad after 50 years.
He was confirmed April 13, 1924, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Craig. His marriage to Rose Herzberg took place on Dec. 22, 1937 in Merrill, Iowa.
Survivors are his wife, Rose; a sister, Verna Croon, Craig; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
