Romadene Preston, 86, of Tyler, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, in Tyler.

She was born on Nov. 2, 1928, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to the late Robert M. and Roberta Mae White Alexander.

Romadene was everything springtime: welcome warmth, vibrant colors and fresh flowers. She chased the winter out of this world. She was a wife, mother, Mimi, great-grandmother, teacher, sister, daughter, neighbor and friend. But, most of all, she was a lover of Jesus. She is with him now. Heaven is made fairer by her arrival. We will miss her, but will join her soon.

She is survived by her husband, Charles William Preston, of Tyler; son, Eric Preston and his wife Diann, of Tyler; daughters, Denalyn Lucado and husband Max, of San Antonio, and Pam Preston, of Dallas; grandchildren, Jenna Bishop and husband Brett, Andrea Lucado, Sara Jones and husband Jeff, Justin Burkett and wife Ashley, Kindel Burkett and Taylor Preston; great-granddaughter, Rose Bishop; and sister-in-law, Jane Bridges.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Emalene Clanton; daughter-in-law, Jana Preston; and brother-in-law, Lynn Preston.
