LA MARQUE - Myra Marie Nordyke Stone, 95, of La Marque died Wednesday, September 25, 2002, at her residence. Born June 29, 1907, in Rubio, Iowa she moved to Galveston in 1945.
While growing up in Iowa as a young girl Myra rode a horse to school and loved hunting rabbits, picking mushrooms, ice skating and playing in the snow. Myra was a hard worker all of her life and enjoyed tending to her cows and chickens. She also earned her pilot's license.
Preceded in death by her son Gary Stone and five brothers, she is survived by her daughter, Theo Henderson of La Marque; daughter-in-law, Anne Stone of Galveston; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and three great
great grandchildren.
Per her request Myra was cremated and no public services will be held.
