Helen Lawrence, 93, of Carrollton, Texas, formerly of Butler, died Sunday at the Autumn Leaves Memory Care in Carrollton, Texas.

She was born in Butler on Nov. 7, 1921.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Minda) Novak.

Immediately after high school, she was employed by The F.W. Woolworth Co. for several years in retail sales until her marriage in 1945.

Following her marriage, she was a loving wife and homemaker for 56 years as well as a caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Her two passions were cooking and baking much to the delight of family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Michael (Butch) Lawrence; one daughter, Karen (Lawrence) Walters; one daughter-in-law, Ann (Soley) Lawrence; three sisters; two brothers; four nephews; and one niece.

Before relocating to Texas in June 2011, she was a member of the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora and the church's Ladies Guild.

She is survived by her son, Robert Lawrence of Lewisville, Texas; one grandson, Scott Lawrence; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Sara Lawrence of Coppell, Texas; one son-in-law, John Waters of Pittsburgh; one brother-in-law, George Lawrence of Moon Township; one sister-in-law, Stella Novak of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends of Helen Lawrence, who died Sunday, May 10, 2015, will be received from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Parastas service will be at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 105 Kohler Ave., Lyndora, with the Rev. Leo Schlosser officiating.

Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
