Audrey LaVonne Bednar, 66, died Tuesday morning, August 6, 1991, at Virginia Gay Hospital, Vinton, following an extended illness. A long time Vinton resident, she had been living in Sunnycrest Nursing Home in Dysart since last November.
She was born July 7, 1925, at Dysart to Addison L. and Beryl T. (Dicken) Hollenbeck. November 12, 1949, she married Richard Chaarles Bednar at LaPorte City.
In Addition to her husband, Richard Bednar, Vinton, she is survived by two step-sons Charles W. Bednar, Cass Lake, MN. and Richard Bednar and his wife, Elaine, Vinton; three step-daughters, Phyllis Dvorak, Vinton, Marlys (Mrs Vernon) Geiger, Earlham, and Karen (Mrs. Richard) Nannman, Naples, Fl; her sister, Lois (Mrs. Lavern) Ingersol,Waterloo; 14 step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Blanche A. Hollenbeck Whistlatch.
Funeral servics will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 10, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with Dr. Dennis Morey of the Vinton Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
A memorial fund has been established.
