Anchorage Daily News (AK) - Wednesday, September 20, 1995

Former Alaskan William L. Hogan, 75, died of cancer Sept. 9, 1995, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz.


At his request, no service will be held.


Mr. Hogan was born June 2, 1920, in Montrose, Colo. He served in the Navy during World War II. He had lived in Washington state and in Anchorage from the late 1950s to the late 1970s before moving to Eloy, Ariz.


Mr. Hogan was a master mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling, and was a licensed fishing and hunting guide and pilot while in Alaska.


He is survived by his wife, Charlotte of Eloy; daughter, Velma Lu Roberts of Olympia, Wash.; two sons, William and Mel, both of Elma, Wash.; stepson, Arnold Hower of Port Orchard, Wash.; two sisters, Naomia Fowler of Nipomo, Calif., and Rebecca Landers of Weiser, Idaho; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.


Cremation arrangements are being handled by Desert Rose Cremation and Burial in Tucson.


The family suggests that memorial donations be sent to any branch of the American Cancer Society.
