She married Elihu Chase on 6/14/1953 at the First United Methodist Church in Massena.
She remained employed as a legal secretary for over thirty years while raising three children.
She was survived by a daughter, Lea Ann Chase; two sons, Giles Aquila Chase (Edith), and, Stewart Furgison Chase (Jeanne); and four grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Giles Elihu Chase in 1989; one brother, Loren Furgison in 2005 and two sisters, Avis A. Maginn in 2007 and Beverly Hartle in 2003.
