ZAHNER, DANIEL L., — July 19, 1967 of 2329 D. Street, Eureka. Husband of Mrs. Lulu M. Zahner of Eureka. Father of Hrbert Zahner of Newark, California. Brother of Mrs. Hazelle Bright of Oakland. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins in this area. He was a graduate of Fortuna schools and the Eureka Business College. Prior to his retirement he had served eight years in the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department. Earlier in his career he had managed Newell’s Logging Camp, operated a stage business and had been employed by the Shell Oil Co. He was a former member of the board of directors of Redwood Acres, a member of the Humboldt County Historical Society and the Eureka Odd Fellows Lodge. A native of Fortuna, age 83. Funeral services will be held at Sanders Funeral Home, Saturday, July 22 at 10 a.m. with Reverend James M. Brown officiating. Encrypiment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
