Heather Lauren Estes Padilla, 28, New Castle resident, passed away Monday, April 9, 2012. She was born Jan. 14, 1984 in New Castle, IN, and had been a resident of New Castle most of her life.

Heather was a 2002 graduate of Blue River Valley High School, and also a graduate of Ivy Tech. She was currently a student at Ball State University. She had worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Indianapolis and also for Ball Hospital in Muncie. Heather enjoyed family activities and sharing time with family and friends. She enjoyed nature, outdoors, fishing, and shooting firearms, achieving the rank of a "marksman".

Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Dominick Padilla and Donovan Padilla; parents, Michael Estes and Mickie Reuter Estes; maternal grandparents, Mike and Norman Jean Reno Reuter; one sister, Kristen Estes; one uncle, Jeff Reuter; one aunt, Judy (husband-Bob) Stone; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, great aunts and great uncles.

She was preceded in death by her uncle, Larry Reuter; and her paternal grandparents, Barney and Katherine Cook Estes.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at Macer-Hall Funeral Home. Funeral service will be private. Burial will take place in South Mound Cemetery in New Castle.
