Surviving are three sons, David S. Cole and his wife Elizabeth of Lutz, Florida, Daniel M. Cole and his wife Natalie of Bardstown, Kentucky, and Michael J. Cole of Clarksburg; two daughters, Geraldine M. Bailey of Lexington, Kentucky, and Melissa Beasley and her husband Jon of Atlanta, Georgia; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one sister and brother-in-law, Josephine M. and Frank Deleo of Rockville, Maryland; as well as three nieces and one nephew.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cole was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph “Murray” Cole, Michael Cole and Bernie Cole.
Mr. Cole was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was retired from C&P Telephone with 33 years of service. He also served his country in the United States Army in World War II, having received the Bronze Star for Meritorious Valor.
Family and friends will be received at the Davis Funeral Home, One Olen Thomas Drive, Rt. 98 Clarksburg/Nutter Fort, on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarksburg at 10 a.m. with Father Thomas Chacko and Father Leon Alexander as co-celebrants. A vigil service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 7 p.m. Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, where full military services will be accorded by the V.F.W. Post 573 of Clarksburg and the V.F.W. Post #9151 of Salem.
