Betty Nash was a 47 year resident of Richland. Born in Decatur, Illinois, on July 19, 1927, to Jesse and Ella Ping, the eldest of their seven children, she attended Decatur public schools and Millikin University as a pre-med student. In 1948 she married C. Robert Nash and moved to Detroit where their seven children were born: Susan Nash, Kathryn Simpson (George), Emily Smith (Roger), Esther Witherspoon (Jon), Carolyn Pope (Michael), C. Robert Nash, Jr. (Marie), and Martha Dillon (Tom).

She is survived by twenty grandchildren and thirty-four great-grandchildren.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Michigan State University in 1966 with a BA in Biological Science. She taught science at Fowlerville, Michigan. In 1968 the family moved to Richland where Bob Nash took positions with Battelle and Westinghouse. In 1969 Betty started at US Testing Company, retiring in 1992.

Betty attended Bible Way church until 1978, then The Assembly of God, where she sang in the choir and conducted Adult Sunday School classes for many years. She volunteered with the Richland Players and Light Opera Society, and served as president of Kadlec Auxilliary. She was a member of Tri-Cities Geological Society and had a fine rock collection.

In 2008 she entered Brookdale Community. She went to be with her Lord on April 15, 2015, at Hospice House. Donations in memory of Betty can be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators and Tri Cities Chaplaincy.

A graveside service will be held at Einan's Sunset Garden in Richland, WA.
