John is survived by the mother of his children, Johnny Ann Samples; two sons, Kenny (Tara) and Danny (Rhonda) Dunahoo both of Beattyville, KY; two daughters, Ruby L. Dunahoo and Jessica Barrett(Byron) of Beattyville, KY; two step children, Dewayne Deaton (Meegan), and Karen Booth (Steve) both of Beattyville, KY; seven grandchildren, Melissa Ann Dunahoo of Irvine, KY, Tonya Dunahoo Lambert, Eddie Dunahoo (Kayla), Chelsey L Dunahoo (Shane) all of Beattyville, KY, Connor Deaton, Hannah Barrett and Emily Barrett; one step grandson, Jamie Hogan, five great grandchildren, Kennedy Lambert, Mason Dunahoo, kaison Wheeler, Duke and DJ; one step great grandson, Hunter Hogan; one brother, Jessie Hogan; one brother, Jessie L. Dunahoo of Lexington, KY; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by one son, Edwin W. Dunahoo; three brothers, Christian Redamar Dunahoo, charles E. Dunahoo and Andrew Jackson Dunahoo; and four sisters, Agnes M Dunahoo Cuneo, Ollie Virginia Dunahoo Foust, Nancy E. Dunahoo Harrison and Ruby M Dunahoo Dees.
Funeral services were held May 12, 2015 at the Newnam Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Ricky Isaacs officiating. Burial was in the St. Helens Cemetery, Lee County, KY.
