Born in Kentucky, near the mouth of Four Mile Creek and the Kentucky River, to Miriam Weaver Eubank and William Zadock Eubank, he was the youngest of three boys. He attended the Academy of the Univ. of Kentucky in Lexington, and Kentucky Wesleyan College in Winchester before entering University Medical College in Kansas City about 1898. He started as a general practitioner, then specialized in Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat. He married Dorothy Smiley in 1903. They built a house at 39th and Wyoming (later moved, then razed), and in 1934 moved to Bittersweet, a home they built off Noland Rd.
