Harold H. McKelvey, 88, of Farmington [St. Francois County, Mo.], passed away Feb. 2, 2001, at the Mineral Area Regional Medical Center. He was born on Sept. 27, 1912, at Marquand, the son of the late Walter and Julia (Huffman) McKelvey. He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Wilma Ledford, Wanda Knueppel and Buelah McGinnis and by two brothers, Walter McKelvey, Jr. and Howard McKelvey.

Before his retirement, Mr. McKelvey was a self-employed farmer. He served his nation with the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Nelma M. McKelvey of Farmington; by a son, Michael McKelvey and wife, Sandra of Piedmont; by two brothers, Herbert McKelvey and wife, Helen Marie of Farmington and Herschell McKelvey and wife, Helen of Rolla; by five grandchildren: Matthew McKelvey of Festus; Amy (McKelvey) Naeger and husband, Steven of Festus; Pamela Miller of Terre Haute, IN and Danielle Stam of Piedmont; Katie (McKelvey) Cook and husband, Doug of Farmington; by one great-grandson, Cory Naeger; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a number of friends.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Cozean Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Cozean Memorial Chapel with Truman Huffman officiating. Burial will follow at Huffman-McKelvey Cemetery at Buckhorn, MO. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
