KNIGHTDALE - Elsalee Smith Poole, 82, of 102 Manor Place, formerly of Old Knight Road, died Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at her home. Mrs. Poole was born in Wake County on November 4, 1918 to the late Frank Smith and Ethel Atkinson Smith. She graduated from Knightdale High School in 1936 and from Miss Harbarger's Secretarial and Business College in 1938. She retired with 27 years of service as a Secretary with the North Carolina State Human Resources Department.
Mrs. Poole was a very active member of Knightdale Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the Adult Choir.
Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday July 28, 2001 at Knightdale Baptist Church. Burial, Old Knightdale Baptist Church Cemetery.
Surviving: daughter, Norma Poole Murphy and her husband, Charlie Murphy of Knightdale; son, Clifford Lee Poole of Chapel Hill; grandson Randall Scott Murphy and his wife
Cari Childers Murphy; great-grandchildren, Andrew Scott Murphy, Jordan Childers; sister, Dorothy S. Smith of Raleigh.
