A former resident of 1740 Thirty-third Street Drive, SW, she was born May 14, 1886, in Alexander County, a daughter of the late Harrison Clay Campbell and Martha Meadows Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. Whitener.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the oldest member of Penelope Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Ned O. Whitener of Hickory; three daughters, Mrs. Fred E. (Rowline) Hollar and Mrs. Paul (Pansy) Mise of Hickory and Mrs. J.D. (Helen) McCray of Hildebran; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday and Penelope Baptist Church. Burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park.
