~*~ Obituary published Friday July 11, 1913 - Lancaster Herald ~*~

A.B. Floyd, at his residence four miles north of Lancaster. Tuesday nith of heart trouble. Funeral services were held at residence Wednesday aftgernoon by Rev. Francis. Mr. Floyd was one of our HIGHLE RESPECTED PIONEERS and his death will be a loss to our community. On account of not being able to secure data. The Herald will publish a more extensive item next week.

Simple polished blue granite marker with "A.B.Floyd"
Thought to have been born just before family left Illinois in Fall,1848 or born en route. Son of pioneers George and Nancy Floyd, first area settlers just north of Lancaster,Tx and owners of original headright grant of 640 acres from the Peters Colony Land Co., Geo. Floyd Abstract 463, on which Floyd-Taylor Cemetery sits 7 ft from original dividing line of Smith Elkins Abst 430.
