Mrs. George Matchett Dies
Mrs. Viola Matchett, 60, of rural Cisne, the wife of George Matchett, died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
Mrs. Matchett was in the hospital scheduled to undergo open heart surgery, the Press was told. However, her condition deteriorated.
Services Wednesday
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne with burial in the Cisne Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Matchett was born in Wayne County June 24, 1919, the daughter of Clarence and Bessie (McCormick) Rogers.
She was married to George Matchett in October of 1954 in Mt. Vernon.
Mrs. Matchett was a housewife. She attended the Johnsonville United Methodist Church.
The Survivors
Surviving are her husband; her mother, Mrs. Bessie Rogers, of Geff; three sons, . . . ; one step-son, . . . ; one step-daughter, . . . , two brothers, Delbert Rogers, of Otter, Mont., Ernest Rogers, of Fairfield; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Leona) Gardner, of Fairfield; Mrs. Bill (Anna Mae) Richards, of Fairfield; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a step-son, Vickie Matchett; two brothers, Lester and Roy Lee Rogers, and by her father.
