Chris passed away at the age of 91 in her home at Wilburton, OK.

She was the 7th of 8 children born to George Lovell and Junior Lee (Watson) Lovell.

She married James Coleman (Butch) Knight in San Antonio, Texas on May 18, 1941. They had one daughter and one son. Butch was killed in action in France in 1944 during World War II.

Chris married Woodford Fremont "Mont" Abernathy on May 25, 1946 in Cameron, Oklahoma. Chris and Mont lived in Red Oak, Oklahoma, and then moved to Wilburton in 1953.

Chris was a stay-at-home mother while her 3 children were young, but worked outside the home when the children were older. She also served as the Latimer County Election Board secretary for 33 years.

She is survived by one son and his wife, 7 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, 1 sister, several nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends who visited her frequently in her later years.

Chris is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, her husbands Butch and Mont, son Larry Knight, daughter Brenda Montero, grandson David Daniel, and great-granddaughter Raven Hunkin.

Interment under the direction of Waldrop Funeral Home.
