George William "Billy" Carlton, a resident of Ardmore was born January 1, 1949 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to George H. and Ruby (Satterfield) Carlton. He passed away March 1, 2004 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 55 years.

He is a graduate of LaGrange High School in Lake Charles Louisiana. He furthered his education by attending Levelland Junior College and then completing his Bachelor's Degree at McNeese University at Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Billy was a member of First Baptist Church in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Working in his flower garden gave him much enjoyment.

Surviving family include his 3 aunts, Frances Jones of Sulphur, Louisiana; Gertrude Potoroff and Dorothy Derrick, both of Tulsa; and a host of cousins. Cousins locally are, Rex Carlton of Elmore City and Ray Carlton, of Pauls Valley.

Graveside services will be held March 4, 2004 at 1:30 pm at Oaklawn Cemetery officiated by Dr. Joe Elam. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home
