HIGH POINT - Edith Haynes Johnson, 93, of Jamestown, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997 at the Presbyterian Home in High
Point.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jamestown United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jim Trollinger. Burial will be at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson was one of twelve children, born in Rockingham County, the daughter of Sarah and Ulysses R. Haynes. She graduated from Jamestown High School where she met and later married Robah V. Johnson. She was a member of Jamestown United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She was also manager of Jamestown School cafeteria for several years and was a resident of Jamestown for more than seventy years.
Surviving are her two sons, Wayne Johnson of Greensboro and Alan Johnson of Jamestown, eight grandchildren, Susan Little and Alan Johnson, Jr., of Greensboro; Ellen Patterson of Summerfield, Carol Bolding of Cary; Cindy Davis and Chris Johnson of Raleigh; Frederick Johnson of Upper Montclair, N. J.; David Johnson of Lawrenceville, Ga. and twelve great-grandchildren.
