Henry Stuart Markham, 81, of 1616 Gibson Court, Staunton, died Monday, July 4, 1994, in King?s Daughters? Hospital. He was born October 28, 1912, in Richmond, a son of the late Michael Eugene and Mayland Rupp Markham. He was a graduate of John Marshall High School, Class of 1930; was associated with Coca Cola, as Plant Manager, from 1935 to 1968; was Plant Manager of Pepsi Cola Bottling in Staunton from 1968 to 1978; and was with Dod Oil Company until retirement. Mr. Markham was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Staunton Rotary Club, and a Paul Harris Fellow Circus Saints and Sinners, Staunton Masonic Lodge No. 13 AF&AM, Union Royal Arch Chapter No. 2, Jollivue Ruritan Club, and charter member of Isaac Walton League. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn M. Hoagland of Hopewell and Mrs. Patricia M. Haddad of Trumbull, CT; four grandchildren. He was preceded in death y his wife, Mary Taylor Markham on November 15, 1985. A funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Central United Methodist Church in Staunton, conducted by Rev. Hugh T Harris. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Riverview Cemetery in Richmond, with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. It is suggested that memorials be made to Memorial Fund of Central United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 953, Staunton, VA, 24402. Hamrick Funeal Home is handling arrangements.
