Thomas Murrell Snodgrass, 89, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2015, at his home, in Rockford, Tennessee.
Mr. Snodgrass was born in White County, H.C. and Essie Taft Snodgrass.
After finishing high school, in Sparta, Tennessee he served in the 76th Infantry during World War II. He was a mortarman and earned the Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star during the Battle of the Bulge.
After the war he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering at the University of Tennessee.
He worked in Chattanooga for several years and then went to Alaska to work in the Bridge Design Section of the Department of Transportation. While in Alaska, he received his Master of Science degree in Arctic Engineering.
Mr. Snodgrass was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David Snodgrass,
James Snodgrass, Harold Snodgrass; and sisters, Lenora Cooper, Mary Helen Williams, Lucile Baskin and Nancy Houston.
He is survived by wife, Mary Snodgrass;
stepsons, James Mark Taylor (Connie),
Thomas A. Taylor (Karen);
stepdaughter, Susan Rochat (Frank);
four grandchildren, Chris Thompson,
Malinda Taylor, Adrian Page, Rachel Taylor; nieces, Carolyn Hitchcock, Jane Johnson, Patricia Alley, Linda Cooper, Mary Tom Kissel, Emily Houston, Stephanie Houston, Cindy Leal, Beth Snodgrass;
nephews, Paul Cooper, Frank Snodgrass, Greg Snodgrass; special nephew by marriage, James E. Jones Jr.
