The son of Simon and Elizabetha Funk Kilmer, he had one of the first mills on the Moses Kill river in argyle, NY. He married Eva Dings August 8th, 1748 in Germantown, Columbia, NY. He was also one of the few residents of Argyle to own at least 3 Slaves. On July 25, 1777 two of his daughters and 2 or 3 of his slaves were killed by Indians at his son-in-law John Allen's farm in South Argyle. George lived nearly 80 years. His father Simon Kilmer's will was probated March 28, 1783 in Dutchess County, NY.
