Charles B. C.B. Bowman, age 82 of Carthage, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015 peacefully at his home. He was born April 12, 1933 in Mount Pleasant, Virginia to the late Samuel M. and Sadie (Scaggs) Bowman.
He was a graduate of Greenfield High School and served in the National Guard after graduation. Prior to his retirement in 1992 C.B. was a plumber and pipe fitter with Local #440 and recently received his pin for 50 years of service.
He was also a member of Charlottesville Friends Church.
C.B. is survived by wife; Sandra (Shull) Bowman of Carthage, son; Steve Bowman (Debi) of Carthage, daughters; Janalyn Hendrix of McCordsville, Karrie (Dave) Sperry of McCordsville, Lisa (Scott) Reynolds of Greenfield, brother; Paul (Della) Bowman of Greenfield, sister; Imogene Warren of Boynton Beach, FL., sisters-in-law; Judy (Andy) Downing, Sharon Bronnenberg, Dinah Bronnenberg, 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife of 47 years, Jeannie C. (Arnold) Bowman in 1999, son; Matthew A. Bowman, brother; Samuel a. Bowman, Marshall Bowman, brother-in-law; Michael Bronnenberg and sisters-in-law; Janet Hufferd and Jody Holiday.
Friends may call 4-8 pm, Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 24th at the funeral home with David Deem officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
