"Boots" was the oldest daughter of William Frank "Willie" Oliver and Lena Ann Martin Oliver of Ironto, Montgomery Co, Va. She was the first wife of Herbert Montgomery Smith and they had one son, Ellis Monroe Smith. "Boots" was a superior cook and made the best Banana Pudding in Virginia. She later worked as a cook until her illness.
