James D. Kerchenfaut, 80, passed away at 8 p. m., Monday.

He was born Jan 27, 1870, near here, a son of John and Mary Meyers Kerchenfaut.

He retired from farming in 1937, and moved to town. He was married to Arminta Warfield, March 1, 1899.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Leonard; two sons, Prim and Lyle; two brothers, Calvin and Albert; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded In death by an infant son, two sisters and two brothers.

He was a member of the Christian church.
