Mary Edith Goolsby, age 91, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2003 at herhome in Carrollton.
She was born September 7, 1912 in Carrollton, Missouri the daughter of Rolla and Laura Loney Wallace. She attended Carrollton Schools and graduated from Carrollton High School.
In 1932 Mary married Wirt C. Goolsby at her parent's home in Carrollton. He preceded her in death. Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church, Carrollton, Missouri. She had been a nursery attendant there for twenty-five years. She was a Certified Nurses Aide and had worked at Carroll House, Carrollton Nursing Center, LancasterNursing Home and as a private home nurse.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Shirley Ward and Ruby Goolsby, both of Carrollton, Missouri; one brother, Roy Wallace, San Antonio, Texas; threegrandchildren, Chuck Ward and George Ward, both of Carrollton, Missouri, Katie Narron, Waverly, Missouri; four great grandchildren, Joseph and Paige Narron, Waverly, Missouri, and Ryan and Heather Cromley, Carrollton, Missouri.
Mary was also preceded in death by her parents,four brothers, Jewell, Marion, Leon and O.L. Wallace; two sisters, Jessie Herndon and Margaret Wallace; one sister in infancy; and two grandsons.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 15, 2003 at Pleasant Park Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Jeff Maxwellofficiating.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m., Sunday, December 14, 2003 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.
