GRANBY — Donald L. Averill Jr., 45, a resident of state Route 176, Granby, passed away June 2, 2011 at his home.
Born in Rochester, he was the son of Donald L. Averill Sr., of Ontario, and Barbara Wilcox, of Sodus.
He was a retired service manager for Breese Chevy in Syracuse. Don was the lead singer for the band Held Hostage. He was an active member of CNY.org Jeep Club and a member of the Oswego County and Oswego Valley ATV club.
Surviving, besides his parents, are his wife, Constance (McKinstry) Averill, of Granby; two daughters, Nicole Averill, of Liverpool; Casey (Tim) Kasper, of North Syracuse; a son, Christopher Averill, of Granby; a brother, Benjamin Averill, of Sodus; two sisters, Julie Averill, of Sodus, Caroline Owen, of Nebraska; two sisters-in-law, Patti (Steve) Rawson, of Fulton and Jennifer (Christopher) Acome, of Virginia; his in-laws, Donna and Neil Batchelor, of Oswego; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., June 4, at the Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 1-4 p.m., June 4, prior to the service, at the funeral home 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
